Easter with the Alligators.

Hi everybody It's Leah writing the blog this time. We are in Lafayette Louisiana and are having lots of fun. This morning we went to a swamp and we went in a boat but it wasn't very big but it had lots of seats. We were the only ones there except for the person driving the boat and explaining all of it.It was really scary seeing Alligators we saw a really small alligator - we think it was a baby alligator and we saw a really big Alligator - we are thinking that it was 12 feet. We also saw lots of different kinds of birds, lots of them were on their nests with baby birds.
We also visited a little cajun town where people were dressed up in costumes. We even went on an Easter egg hunt and got lots of candies!

We went to this factory that dad really wanted to go to where they made Tabisco sauce - we got lots of samples! We went out for supper at this place where they had lots of seafood like crawfish (which everyone eats here tons - I like catfish better though) and they had a band that was playing Canjun music and we got to dance!

We are staying at a really nice campground with lots of people staying at. Me and Emma made three Louisiana friends - one girl was called Augere and one other girl was called Danielle and those two are sisters and the last girl is called Selena. Everyday and night they partyed and mostly every adult had a golf cart with the two back seats - my dad wants one!

Y'All have a Happy Easter!!

PS - Congrats to Aunt Sandra and Miss Nicole Macdonald who guessed our last trivia question about Leah's expensive visit to the doctor. The cost to see the doctor was $150 and then the 3 medicines were $110 for a grand total of $260...good thing we have coverage!  Ladies - your prizes will be in the mail sometime soon!

We learned lots of interesting facts about alligators today. Did you know that they can run extremely fast on land! So if you are ever chased by an alligator on land - what's the best thing you can do to protect yourself??

We are heading north to the Natchez Louisiana area tomorrow to visit a cotton plantation by the Missippi River.

Bye,

The best thing to do when a gator chases you is to play dead (which you may be if it doesn't work).
Jealousy will get you no where Paul !! And quess what? Gas was cheaper in Hamiota then in Calgary on the weekend.

Glad the Easter bunny found you. Does the chocolate bunnies & eggs melt in the warm weather? John thinks you need to bury yourself in the sand!!! Hannah & Jacob thinks you run away and go up a tree...Mom (Jane) says to stay home at the campsite...don't go looking for alligators!!! We are all enjoying your adventures. Thanks for the postcard!!!

Hope you don't get lost in the cotton fields. Will you be going to any of the real old plantations?
To protect yourself from a gator on land run in a circle around it and make it dizzy.
That gentleman from Hamiota probobly got it right already.
Leah and Emma can always feed us some information too.
